James ALGER (c. 1877-c. 1936)

James ALGER, son of Harry ALGER (c. 1851-c. 1930) and Caroline BELL (c. 1852-c. 1931), was born c. 1877 in Palgrave, Suffolk. He appeared in the census in 1881 at Diss Road in Palgrave - 3, living with parents Harry (30, gardener) and Caroline (29), and siblings Elizabeth (7, scholar), Harry Henry (6,scholar), Maryann (4, scholar), Florence (2) and Sydney (10 mos).¹ He appeared in the census in 1891 at Mount Street in Diss, Norfolk - 13, serve baker, living with parents Harry (40, gardener) and Caroline (39), and siblings Elizabeth (17, stay maker), Harry H (16, serve bricklayer), Florence (12, scholar), Sydney (10), John Ed (9), Thomas (8) and Alice (6).² He died c. 1936.
