Arthur Frederick NOLLETH, son of Alfred NOLLETH (c. 1852-c. 1938) and Mary Amm WHITE (c. 1851-1889), was born circa 1878 in Kenninghall, Norfolk. Arthur joined the army at Norwich, Norfolk on 12 July 1916 - assigned to the Queen’s Royal West Surrey Regiment, Private, Ser. No. 17872. From 18 August 1916 to 21 January 1919 he served with the British Expeditionary Force. At some point he transferred to the Royal Engineers, Driver, WR 22647. (There may have also been a transfer early to another section of The R.E., Serv. No. 247170. Arthur was on the in 1918 Absent Voters List for South Lopham at Rectory Road - No. 4018, WR22647 Pnr., 313rd R.C. Co. R.E. From 21 January 1919 to 26 February 1919 he served on home soil. He was demobbed on 26 February 1919 and transferred to the Class “Z” Army Reserve. His home address given as Redgrave Road, South Lopham. Arthur died on 5 June 1924 in South Lopham.
