[One of the] FOUR BROTHERS FROM NORTH LOPHAM
The four sons of Mrs. F. G. Clarke, of Ivy House, North Lopham, are serving with the forces. We give their photos, vis.: - (1) Private W. J. Clarke, motor fitter, Guard’s Division, British Expeditionary Force; (2) Lance-Corporal Friday L. Clarke, 1st Norfolks, British Expeditionary Force; (3) Private Bertie V. Clarke, Northumberland Fusiliers, British Expeditionary Force; (4) Frank S. Clarke, Signal man in the Royal Navy.

Friday Leonard CLARKE, son of Frederick George CLARKE (1864-1912) and Barbara Constance MUSK (1866-1940), was born on 4 April 1890 in Garboldisham, Norfolk - parents Frederick George and Barbara Constance. He was bapised on 27 July 1890 in Garboldisham. Friday was attested into the army and pronounced fit on 30 April 1906. He was appointed to the Norfolk Regiment, and posted to the 4th Battalion on 3 May 1906, Private 5766. No further details of Friday’s service were found until the War Office Service Medal And Award Rolls Index shows him as Corporal 7263, of the 1st Norfolk Regiment. (The 1911 Census gives one point of reference to where he served.) He died circa 1962 - aged 72 years.

Death:	1962
Military:	Friday was attested into the army and pronounced fit on 30 April 1906. He was appointed to the Norfolk Regiment, and posted to the 4th Battalion on 3 May 1906, Private 5766.
