• Field notes:
  1. Surname and forename - any string of 2 to 12 letters or spaces that are in any place within the surname field, useful if used when unsure of spellings of names - not case specific (see below for wildcards).
  2. Gender - select either male, female or either for both male and female, or ignore to not consider gender.
  3. Year of birth - enter a number betweem 1600 and 2000 for the year of birth or leave blank to not consider year of birth - enter +/- from 0 to 10 to give year of birth span (if 0 or null it is ignored).
  4. Marital status - select either married, single, widowed, or ignore to not consider marital status.
  5. Parishes - select both, only North or only South for the required Lopham parish(es) required..
  6. Events (datasets) - check one or more of the event types to select or leave all unchecked for all event types.
  7. Event Year - enter a number betweem 1600 and 2000 for the event year or leave blank for all years - enter +/- from 0 to 20 to give event year span (if 0 or null it is ignored).

  13. Address - any string of 2 to 12 letters or spaces that are in any place within the address field - not case specific (see below for wildcards).
  14. Notes - any string of 2 to 20 letters or spaces that are in any place within the notes field - not case specific (see below for wildcards).
• Wildcards - these are symbols that denote an unknown part of a string; % indicates 0, 1 or more characters and _ (underscore) a single character in a search. For example, using 'sm_th' will find smith and smyth. Also, remember that the chosen pattern of letters and wildcards can be anywhere in the field, eg: in surname, ST%L (or lower case) will find STarLing, conSTabLe, STeeLe, paSTaL, etc. Wildcards cannot be used in number or date fields.
