Jabez was born on 17 Jul 1878 in New Buckenham, Norfolk.1,2 He appeared in the census in 1881 at Market Place in New Buckenham - 3, living with parents John (31, earthenware dealer) and Hannah (27).3 He appeared in the census in 1891 at King Street in New Buckenham - 12, scholar, living with parents John (41, general dealer) and Hannah (36).4 He and Sarah Lydia WOLTON had marriage banns published on 31 Jul 1898 in New Buckenham. - bride of Hethersett, groom of New Buckenham, other dates were 09.08.1898 and 14.08.1898.5 Jabez married Sarah Lydia WOLTON on 24 Aug 1898 in New Buckenham. ACCIDENT Mrs. Mullenger, of Thelveton, had a narrow escape from serious injury on Wednesday afternoon. She was cycling towards Diss when a collision occurred between a lorry owned by T. Drane, of Upper Weybread and driven by A. Bloomfield, and a car driven by Jabez Ribbons, Diss, took place on Frenze Bridge. As a result the car ran across the road into Mrs. Mullinger, forcing her into the hedge. Mrs. Mullenger sustained slight injuries but her cycle was smashed.
Jabez experienced 1939 Registration in 1939 in Diss.1 b. 17.07.1878, oil salesman, living with wife Sarah (b. 15.01.1874, unpaid domestic duties), son John L (b. 29.07.1917, shop assistant out fitting), and two others. Jabez died c. 1962.11 |
