27 February 1827, The London Gazette, Issue 18339, Page 479 - "THE Creditors who have proved their debts under a Commission of Bankrupt awarded and issued forth against Henry Spratt, of Tharston, in the County of Norfolk, Miller, Dealer and Chapman, are requested to meet the Assignees of the estate and effects of the said Bankrupt, on Monday the 2d day of April next, at Eleven o'Clock in the Forenoon, at the Norfolk Hotel, in the City of Norwich, to assent to or dissent from the said Assignees commencing, prosecuting, or defending any action or actions, suit or suits at law or in equity, for the recovery of any part of the said Bankrupt's estate and effects; or to the compounding, submitting to arbitration, or otherwise agreeing any action or suit to be- commenced, prosecuted or defended as aforesaid, upon such terms and in such manner as they shall think proper; and also to assent to or dissent from the said Assignees selling and disposing of the household furniture, stock in trade and utensils of the said Bankrupt, or any part thereof, either by private contract or by public auction, and either for ready money or on credit, and with security or otherwise, as they shall think proper; and also to confirm the sales made and other acts done by the said Assignees, or by the provisional Assignee of the said Bankrupt's estate and effects, or any of them, or of touching the same estate and effects; and also to assent to or dissent from the said Assignees employing a person to collect in the outstanding debts due to the said Bankrupt, and paying such person a reasonable compensation; and to authorise the said Assignees to compound or submit to arbitration any of such debts as they shall think proper, and to dispose of such debts, or any of them, in one gross ????? otherwise; and on other special affairs."

4 December 1827,The London Gazette, Issue: 18420, Page: 2500 - "THE Commissioners in a Commission of Bankrupt, bearing date the 5th day of January 1827, awarded and issued forth against Henry Spratt, of Tharston, in the County of Norfolk, Miller, Dealer and Chapman, intend to meet on the 1st day of January next, at Five o'Clock in the Afternoon, at the Norfolk Hotel, situate in the City of Norwich, in order to make a Dividend of the estate and effects of the said Bankrupt; when and where the Creditors, who have not already proved their debts, are to come prepared to prove the same, or they will be excluded the benefit of the said Dividend, And all claims not then proved will be disallowed."

Note on Husband: Henry SPRATT (3)

Henry Spratt appears to have left Norfolk in 1836, on his own leaving his family behind. First stopping at Boston and then New York on his way to Ohio. Ship Barque James. He subsequently went to Toronto, Canada. Wife shown as widowed in 1841 Census so did he die in the U.S. or wife had disowned him due to the disgrace of bankruptcy? (Possible death in 1843 in either Ohio or Toronto - unproven.)
