It is supposed that it was the work of an incendiary, the stack was found to ignited in two or three places. Mr. Herbert Womack, of South Lopham Hall, son of the owner, was quickly on the spot, and a band of workers at once set to get the flames under control. A good supply of water was obtained from a pit close at hand but it was impossible to save the stack. The fire started at about half past seven and lasted till daybreak.
