Military:The military records for Wilfred are very poorly preserved and quite difficult to read. ... Summary of what can be deciphered ... He was attested into the army of 5 February 1916 and placed on the Army Reserve the following day. Wilfred was mobilised on 26 October 1916 and was posted to the A.S.C. M.T. Res. Depot at Grove Park, moving to Chisledon Camp on 11 January 1917, serving on home soil until 27 March 1917. At some point, possibly 20 April 1917, he transferred to the Royal Warwickshire Regiment, Private 28667, joining them on 26 April. He served in France, travelling there from 20 March 1917 to the 30 March, with the British Expeditionary Force. On 24 February 1919 he was transferred to Class “Z&rfdquo; Army Reserve.
