Military:	Very little is known of Wallace’s military service. The Thetford and Watton Times newspaper article refers to his service as with the Guard’s Division. There is a medal index card that notes a Wallace Jesse as being in the Royal Army Service Corps. This may well be the same person. [The term RASC Guards Division refers to the specialized units of the Royal Army Service Corps that provided essential supply, transport, and logistical support to the British Army’s (and the later Guards Armoured Division) during the major 20th-century conflicts.] With this in mind it is likely that Wallace was Private M2/115647, Royal Army Service Corps.
