Military:	In the Thetford and Watton Times newspaper report Bertie is given as being in the Northumberland Fusiliers. The only other records of his service is a pension ledger that gives his as Lance-Corporal 19590, Northumberland Fusiliers. It also noted that at some point he had received a gun shot wound to the chest and finally left service on 27 March 1918.
