Kate was born on 4 May 1871 in Eye, Suffolk.¹ She appeared in the census in 1881 at Potash in Eye - 10, scholar, living with parents Frederick (47, agricultural labourer) and Sarah (40), siblings Emily A (18, tailors machinist), William (14, agricultural labourer) and George (5, scholar), and grandmother Jemima THORNDYKE (66, out relief pauper).² She appeared in the census in 1891 at Langton Green in Eye - 19, living with parents Frederick (54, agricultural labourer) and Sarah (47), and siblings George (14, agricultural labourer) and Louisa (9, scholar).³ She married Jesse Rassmede STAMMERS c. 1895 - reg: Hartismere Suffolk.⁴ She appeared in the census in 1901 at Thornham Road in Mellis, Suffolk - 29, living with husband Jesse (29, domestic gardener) and sons William (5) and George (3).⁵ She appeared in the census in 1911 at The Common in Mellis - 39, living with husband Jesse (39, farm labourer) and children William (15, farm labourer), Ckaude (13, scholar), Kathleen (4) and Jack (3).⁶ She appeared in the census in 1921 at Railway Hotel in Mellis - 51, home duties, boarding at the Railway Hotel, along with husband Jesse (50, farm labourer) and children Jack (13) and Dorothy (9).⁷ She experienced 1939 Registration in 1939 in Thrandeston, Suffolk.¹ b. 04.05.1871, unpaid domestic duties, living with husband Jesse (b. 21.07.1870, licenced victualler). Kate died on 8 Oct 1950 - reg: Hartismere Suffolk. She had her estate probated on 31 Aug 1951 in Ipswich, Suffolk - "STAMMERS Kate of Tetherdown Mellis Suffolk widow died 8 October 1950 Probate Ipswich 31 August [1951] to Rose Ellen Stammers spinster. Effects £552 18s.".⁸
