Kate was born on 3 Mar 1879 in Diss, Norfolk - date of birth on 1939 Registration may be incorrect, perhaps should be 03.03.1880.¹ She was baptised on 16 Mar 1880 in Diss.² She appeared in the census in 1881 at Denmark Street in Diss - age 1, living with parents William (29, general labourer) and Susanna (25), and brother William (3).³ She appeared in the census in 1891 at Mount Street in Diss - age 11, scholar, living with parents William (45, labourer) and Susan (33), and siblings Robert (13), George H (8), Jane (3) and Emma (2 mos).⁴ She appeared in the census in 1901 at St. Nicholas Street in Diss - age 21, general domestic servant, living in the household of William RAYNER (46, Inn keeper [probably at the Greyhound Inn] and marine store dealer) and his family.⁵ She and Albert LISTER had marriage banns published on 19 Nov 1905 in Diss. - other dates were 26.11.1905 and 03.12.1905. Kate married Albert LISTER on 10 Dec 1905 in Diss - after banns; groom a mechanic, father Philip (a carpenter); bride's father William (a labourer). The marriage was witnessed by Mary Ann LISTER and George LISTER. The ceremony was conducted by Rev. C. U. MANNING.⁶ She appeared in the census in 1911 at Gashouse Lane in Diss - age 31, living with husband Albert (40, general labourer) and children Henry (5) and Stanley Albert (4mos).⁷ She was recorded on the 1939 Register living at 8 Gas House Lane in Diss. - b. 03.03.1879, unpaid domestic duties.⁸
